Andrew Forrest’s Fortescue group is has announced new plans to produce green steel on a commercial scale – and without burning fossil fuels.

• The plant, which will be one of the largest in the world, will produce 300,000 tonnes of green methanol for use as marine fuel.
• For the development of the project, which is supported by the Australian government, the company is partnering with ABEL Energy.
