06.04.2026 >> Hydrogen Valleys Days 2026 will take place from 4 to 8 May in Antwerp (Belgium), bringing together European and international stakeholders from the hydrogen sector. The event will highlight the role of “Hydrogen Valleys” in connecting hydrogen production, distribution, and end-use, while fostering concrete projects, investment, and regional competitiveness. The programme includes high-level sessions, strategic forums, thematic workshops, and networking opportunities, contributing to accelerating the deployment of clean hydrogen across Europe. // 06.04.2026 >> IRENA’s “Renewable Capacity Statistics 2026” highlights continued strong growth in global renewable energy. In 2025, renewable power capacity reached a record 5,149 GW, with an annual increase of 692 GW (+15.5%). Solar energy led this expansion, accounting for the majority of new capacity, followed by wind power. Renewables represented around 85% of all new power capacity additions, reinforcing their central role in the global energy transition, although further acceleration is still needed to meet 2030 targets.

Commission approves €350 million

The European Commission has approved, under EU State aid rules, a €350 million German scheme to support the production of renewable hydrogen through the European Hydrogen Bank's “Auctions-as-a-Service” tool. The German measure is in line notably with the objectives of the REPowerEU Plan and the European Green Deal Industrial Plan. It will contribute to further reducing imports of Russian fossil fuels and fast forward the green transition.

Promotores do consórcio para a exportação de hidrogénio de Sines

O consórcio que juntava a Engie, a Shell, a Vopak e a Anthony Veder desistiu da ideia de produzir hidrogénio verde em Sines para exportação para Roterdão. Era um dos projetos de larga escala que nos últimos anos foram pensados para o município alentejano.

Política da UE. ONG exigem critérios rigorosos para hidrogénio

A Comissão Europeia foi instada a proceder a consultas alargadas e a adotar uma abordagem metódica na definição de novos "combustíveis com baixo teor de carbono", receando-se que uma legislação elaborada à pressa possa promover a utilização insustentável de gás fóssil.

The hydrogen trail

In the current context of climate crisis, institutions are promoting the energy transition to reduce COâ‚‚ emissions and, therefore, meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement. This transition is characterised by the decarbonisation of the economy, which involves the electrification of productive sectors through the implementation of non-conventional renewable energies, photovoltaic and wind, on a large scale.
