Saudi Arabia plans to export green hydrogen to Europe by pipeline
Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest exporter of crude, plans to sell green hydrogen produced in the kingdom to Europe, its energy minister said.
The kingdom intends to pipe the clean fuel to Europe "if the economics allow for it", Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told the Riyadh-based International Energy Forum during an online conference.
Saudi Arabia harbours ambitions to be an exporter of hydrogen as it adjusts to the global energy industry's shift to cleaner fuel sources.

H2 Green Steel Initiative Aims to Produce 5 Million Tons of CO2-Free Steel
H2 Green Steel (“H2GS”) will be a large-scale steel producer based on a fossil-free manufacturing process targeting large European OEMs. H2GS will be located in the Boden-Luleå region in northern Sweden that offers unique conditions for fossil-free steel production. The project includes a giga-scale green hydrogen plant as an integrated part of the steel production facility. Production will begin in 2024 and by 2030, H2GS will have annual production capacity of 5 million tons of high-quality steel. Henrik Henriksson, currently CEO of Scania, will lead the company.

Gigascale green hydrogen plant planned for northern Sweden
A gigascale green hydrogen plant will be built in northern Sweden as part of €2.5bn plans unveiled today (23rd Feb) to produce fossil-free steel at a leading cost position by 2024.
H2 Green Steel, behind the plans, expects to have an annual production capacity of five million tons of high-quality steel by 2030, produced by a fossil-free manufacturing process targeting large European OEMs.
