Air Liquide becomes main partner of Energy Observer

Air Liquide has become the main partner for Energy Observer for the next four years, supporting both the hydrogen-powered vessel and its team on its upcoming ventures.

The industrial gas giant has been working with Energy Observer since the launch of the laboratory ship which aims to demonstrate the key role of hydrogen in the energy transition.

Rockwell Automation Technologies for Hydrogen Fuel Cells Help to light Eiffel Tower. 

To create the light show, a team from EOdev, a subsidiary of Energy Observer, built a hydrogen fuel cell-based power generator using Rockwell energy management technologies. The generator mirrors the one used on the Energy Observer – the world’s first hydrogen-powered ship. This first-of-its-kind light display was part of the city’s “Le Paris de l’hydrogène” event in May.

Plug Power, Apex Clean Energy set to develop the largest wind-supplied hydrogen project in the US

Plug Power and Apex Clean Energy have announced today (July 14) a 345MW wind power purchase agreement (PPA) and a development services agreement for a green hydrogen production facility.

Plug Power said that the hydrogen plant being developed is said to be the first and largest wind-supplied hydrogen project in the US as well as the largest onshore wind-powered project across the globe.

Cummins to test new hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engine

Cummins is set to begin testing of a new hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engine today (July 13) that will support customers in meeting the energy and environmental needs of the future.

Following the proof-of-concept testing, the company plans to evaluate the engine in a variety of on and off highway applications, supporting the Cummins’ efforts to accelerate the decarbonisation of commercial vehicles.

Wärtsilä tests 100 pct hydrogen plants to back 11,000GW of wind and solar

Finnish engineering giant Wärtsilä says a global energy system powered entirely by renewables is a step closure, announcing it has commenced testing new engines and power plants capable of being fuelled entirely by renewable hydrogen.
